The Metropolitix has a mix-tape that will be available on 4/20. *Cough* No, that is not from the smoke. It is a hint to check them out. The other demo tracks they currently have available are at the link above. They are pushing the 4/20 show at Heartbreakers, but you can also check them out on March 22nd or on May 29th at the Baha Rock Club, if you can't make it out in April to the Landing. Give them a like HERE on facebook and then download/stream this track too!

Subsequently, they also possess this week's #VideoOfTheWeek! They were kind enough to submit a video and I asked them if they would like music included with it and mentioned that I could also post their show info. They sent me what I needed and it really is that easy to get a little promo:

Unanimous feature & VOTW by Drag The Dead! #STL #MUSIC
Unanimous has spent the past five years experiencing new things, not as a collective, but as four guys in four different places. Gaining knowledge to get back to where they are today, together and in St. Louis, MO. They have played in and out of town previously and are looking forward to doing the same again and also recording more music. Give this rock, reggae w/ a shot of whiskey for your blues style of group a listen or download their track below. Also, below the song is their upcoming events.

Geoff Koch will be on the STL Chevy Showcase this Friday on KMOV/Channel 4 between 6:50-7:00am, 11:25-11:30pm and 11:54pm-12:00am. He is from St. Louis and has been active in and out of town since 2004 consistently. If you have never seen him live, he is definitely worth seeing, I finally caught him at Off Broadway a couple of years ago and enjoyed his music. The time is coming for his next album, local shows and tour are in the works.

Their next show is at Blueberry Hill on Saturday, March 10th. They have two songs to offer up to you, they are as follows:

Jeff Riley Jazz Suite, Lantern Lights, The Mhurs, Bear Hive & VOTW by Fivefold! #STL #MUSIC
Just a little over ten years ago The Jeff Riley Jazz Suite debuted in CCM's Watson Hall. Initially, the orchestra was created, performed and analyzed for the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. This was his gift to his father on his birthday that particular year. Touching story. Be sure to stop by the website to learn about the evolution of this jazz fusion orchestra. This is their most popular song on their self-titled album. Catch them at the Casa Loma Ballroom on Friday, February 24th with a twenty-four piece, contemporary swing band known as the St. Louis Big Band. Check out "Reggae Soul" below:
(Click Sound Cloud logo, bottom right, to download.)
The Lantern Lights are fixing to release their first album at Foam on Saturday, February 25th with support from The Mhurs and Bear Hive. HERE is the link to the show on Facebook. The band consists of me and Kari Wasoba, with assistance from Ryan Wasoba (formerly of So Many Dynamos) and Dan Meehan (Humdrum, The Floating City). Kari had the following to share with me, "We recorded the album ourselves in comfortable spaces around St. Louis, and we're pretty happy with how it turned out." Here are three tracks of the album to check out now, so you can be the judge for yourself. Also, you will find three pieces of music by The Mhurs and Bear Hive underneath the three Lantern Lights songs. They are as follows:
#VideoOfTheWeek! this week is brought to you by Fivefold. They performed at Pop's Concert Venue this past Wednesday evening acoustic before Hurt performed their acoustic set. They recently endured the loss of their guitar player Jesse Berlin. This is a tribute to him, he died at the age of twenty-one. You can watch the video below, know that they have a free show at The Firebird this Friday night. Then on Saturday night, they will be at Pop's Concert Venue for the Pop's Stage Pointfest Video Release. Just click on the venue links in red for each particular event page on the given venue websites. Here is this week's video of the week!

New Illphonics, Cronus, The Stone Sugar Shakedown, The Scandaleros & The Eclectic Contact Run #STL #MUSIC
The Eclectic Contact Run is three men that have been working on their collaboration since the end of 2010 in their basement in Dogtown. They are a Rock, Blues, Alternative style of group which recently changed their name from "Ponder Point". They initially shared this track on the fan page on Facebook and I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw that it was a practice recording done in a basement, it is just that you never know what you are going to get. I was pleasantly surprised and this track has some good songwriting and I especially enjoyed the melody and vocals. Watch for these guys in the near future at a venue near you. May I introduce you to their song, "Money & Women"? Note: Their dog is jokingly referred to as their manager, tech, hype-girl on facebook.
The Illphonics have a new EP coming out in February on the 21st. Watch the website for details. Their next show in St. Louis is this Friday at the Old Rock House for a battle to win a spot on WAKARUSA 2012. View the event HERE. Also performing is The Elemental Shakedown, The Scandaleros, Cronus & also The Stone Sugar Shakedown. Below this song are three live tracks from artists on this bill, two of which you can download, except the last one.
(Click Sound Cloud logo to go download.)
Also, Isaac Cherry, the drummer for The Ragged Blade Band has been recording some different type of music on his personal Sound Cloud account. One example is that he is doing some "Blues" drum tracks by themselves and offering them to others to cut and splice for their own beats. His group does turn-of-the-century style of music with all sorts of influences in there.

New Glitch Factor, Io Media & #VideoOfTheWeek by 30aut6! #STL #MUSIC
Justin Fisher released a new electronic track that features his friend and former band mate in Murder Happens, Paul Wood. Paul is the drummer and runs the Pro Tools for them, but here you get to hear him play the bass on this effort, "The Truth" by Justin under the Glitch Factor monicker.
Io Media consists of Mason Brown on guitar/vocals, Alex Beaven on guitar, Peter Wyrostek on bass and Jim Hughes on drums. They are a post-rock and experimental type of group that not only writes and produces their own music, but visuals to go along with the music. Something new I stumbled on this past week for you, it's called, "Knowledge".
This week's #VideoOfTheWeek! is by 30aut6 of Valier, IL. they recently had their CD Release party and this is a song called, "Perfect" from that event.
