Resurrection: @freedomforgiven CD Release Sat. 4/21 @WayOutClub

FreedomAndForgiven is ready for an epic night filled with mixes by himself, plus DJ Enough, DJ Kortell and DJ Styles. This event is especially geared for fans of rave music, drum and bass or trap music. Let's just say 40hz is not bone-shattering enough for the artists on the bill. Nick Britt is FreedomAndForgiven and on Saturday, April 21st he will be resurrecting his "Tears Of Rain" album from 2004 as it has been remastered in HD audio. It also features additional content featuring mixes by DJ Enough. The original has never stopped charting on iTunes and Spotify. Additionally, it is rumored that The Freaks from Phobius Haunted Attraction just might be lurking amongst the shadows during the album release show happening at The Way Out Club on Saturday, April 21st from 8:30 pm to 1:00 am. Nick has been dubbed "The Mad Conductor" over the course of the past thirteen years. His passion has been to carry romance period works into the modern world by reorchestrating classical works, ballets and symphonies.
He is also considered as the founding father of both Flamenco Psy and Psy Bass. Over the years his music has been sampled and performed live by world renowned DJ's Nervo, Somnia and Damian Chanel.

The Palms was the original name for The Way Out Club's previous location on the corner of Compton and Cherokee Street. The sign still hangs outside the current venue to this day. The original building opened for business in 1939 and there were two brothers that ran it from 1946 to 1964. After the last remaining brother passed, the club changed hands and eventually turned into The Way Out Club's first spot. In time, after not having enough space and landlord politics, another building caught Bob and Sherri's eye. Sherri's first to be exact. While driving by what is now what we know as The Way Out Club on Jefferson she pointed it out to Bob. They made an investment just before the year 2000 and found a new home with more area to facilitate their dedication to the St. Louis music scene. In April of 2000 they picked back up where they left off and made things even better.

On Saturday, April 7th you can be a part of what appears it very well could be a sold out show in celebration of the date of The Way Out Club's move to Jefferson 18 years ago. The headliner that night will be Human Host from the Bronx in New York. Supporting acts, patrons, musical guests and friends of The Way Out Club performing also will be The Holy Hand Grenades, The Highway Saints, 9:09, Ramona Deflowered and Free Dirt. "Originally hailing from Glen Arm, MD, Human Host was formed in December 2002 and is now based in New York City and other parts of the Northeast.

The creative core of Human Host is made up of a rotating ensemble of multi-media artists and figments of your imagination.

Many independent record labels have released music by Human Host and the group has also scored the soundtrack music for two independent films, as well as the independent feature "The Human Host Movie" which has been totally confusing and captivating crowds at screenings from coast to coast.

For their third band, The Way Out Club is happy to announce The Highway Saints!

"The Highway Saints are a St. Louis folk-rock/jam band that give a tip of the hat to good old fashioned Rock’n’Roll. Typically, they tend to play just outside of St. Louis, but have had a tendency to be pulled back in to play a few times a month locally. They are gearing up for their self-titled debut album that is scheduled to begin in late March and will be heavily influenced by the sounds of The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, The Grateful Dead, and even Drive-By Truckers. The Highway Saints have been noted to be in the “grey area” as far as genre due to the versatility of songwriting and musicianship amongst the members."

Painter and singer/songwriter Pamela Devine has been working on her album that is scheduled for release in late 2013. She came to the last STLMU meeting at Utopia Studios. By the way, if you are interested in attending one, visit the "About" page and see when the next one is. Where was I? Oh, yes. I remember. While Pamela was walking down the steps into "The Necropolis" portion of the creative space there, she told me afterwards she was wondering what she was getting herself into. Once she sat down we all introduced ourselves and chatted about many things. Shawn and I later listened to her music after the meeting and she has a soulful voice and reminds us of Annie Lenox. She writes her music for those they are meant for, maybe these speak to you.

The BOB Band is good. I like their style. They have an Americana/Outlaw Country vibe and somehow manage to manage to make it sound punk here and there also. The group is from Millstadt, Illinois. This is a track they just shared on their facebook fan page and is a live track. I saw them live this past December at Fubar and I was truly impressed. Speaking of which, they will be back at Fubar on Friday, January 27th w/ Buffalo Bob & The Bedroom Band. Visit the venue website for more information on this show.

The Shadow Thieves name is a bit mysterious, however, they are not strangers to our scene. Casey Govero, recording engineer and radio host on Rock Town Radio, posted this on Hard-Wired Media. With permission from both parties, I bring you this exclusive, live performance by the dark-alternative act The Shadow Thieves. Their vocalist and guitarist Christopher shared with me that the group performs quite routinely, yet they are now busy behind the scenes with photo shoots and studio sessions over the next month. All of this is in preparation for their new release. I can tell you that there next show will be in June and they will be giving out free promo in honor of Vincent Price's 100th birthday.
