The Dogs will be performing at Foam Coffee & Beer this Thursday with an up and coming St. Louis act Spectator. The Dogs are from Chicago, IL. and the details of the event are right HERE. Check out the first song off of The Dog's full-length release entitled,"Camping" on theirBand Camp and support the artist, if possible. The entire release is available by naming your price. That is from zero on up. The band has received an impressive amount of press: YVYNYL, A.V. Club, and Motor City Rocks, to name a few. As well as a Daytrotter session, later that week. Thanks to Tron Management for submitting this!
Rock U Fest 2011 just announced four new acts to the lineup! The total is now up to twenty-eight acts, so far. Man Eating Tiger, The Sudden Impact, Something Heroic & Doubleshot were just added. Below are downloads for Something Heroic and Doubleshot, plus a track that you can stream for Man Eating Tiger, I do not have a track for The Sudden Impact yet. However, to represent them for now they are this week's #Video Of The Week! More to come on the blog this week. I have two featured shows this week to promote the artist's show and free download they are offering. Look for that on Tuesday at the earliest. Enjoy.
So, this post is cool to me, I hope it is to you also. It's the 50th here and wasn't sure how things would be at this point, or whether they would "be" at all, but here we are. I have the Sicklove track from last week's Rock U Fest announcements, so I will include that at the bottom after the four newly announced Rock U Fest artists. But first, I have an STLMU *Exclusive* which I'm excited about, I know Alex is too. He is from the group Peach and they have their CD Release this weekend at The Heavy Anchor. It takes place on Saturday, Aug. 20th & starts @ 9pm. It is FREE to get in & it is FREE to drink PBR. Provided you are 21 or older. This is a 21 + show. HERE is the event on facebook and Peach will be sharing the stage with Bruiser Queen & Ellon The Felon And The Mattronome. The CD is called,"Far From The Tree" and they will have it available for $5 at the show. HERE is a brief review I made as a courtesy to the band for submitting this track to the blog and giving me the exclusive on it. They do not have the music anywhere online yet. By the way, the picture above is their show poster, made by Jason Potter. It is based off of the theme that Peach picked and had photographed by Corey Woodruff. Enjoy streaming and or downloading this gift by the group Peach:
Rock U Fest just announced four more acts to the bill for Sept. 24th, here they are as follows: Scene Of Irony, Dear Genre, The Last Round & Since 1902. All of these tracks are downloadable. Catch Dear Genre and Since 1902 at LouFest this year also.
Dear Genre is playing at LouFest coming up, they are one of the high school acts that are playing on the (Area K) stage, in addition they will be at Rock U Fest! Here is some footage from their show at the Pageant recently, it is 1 0f 2 parts. This is our #Video Of The Week!
*Note: This track is just a demo that was made on an I-pod, just so they have something to represent themselves with, actual recordings to come in the future. This will at least give you an idea of what they sound like.
*Also, this was one of last week's Rock U Fest artists that were announced, I gave them video of the week last week to represent them. Now I have their track, so once again, here is Sicklove:
Buxom Space Fish, Panic Attack, Toilet Water and Sicklove were announced as confirmed acts to the Rock U Fest 2011 festival just yesterday. Toilet Water is a "revolving door" rock/funk/rap type of band that Ruka Puff is the front-man for. The Buxom Space Fish track is downloadable and the Panic Attack, Toilet Water tracks are just for streaming only, you can purchase them on their websites if you like. I have not received a track for Sicklove, but will add it later on to a post, if I receive one from them. So, instead of a track by them they have our #Video Of The Week, I happened to attend this show at the Firebird Saturday night and my friend Darrell from St. Luniverse was there filming it for Sicklove.
Since 1902 will be performing at Lou Fest in the coming weeks on the (Area K) stage. This is their most recent EP, there is no minimum price to download this. But you can name your price and pay them for what you think it's worth or what you can to support them too.
As you may know, every Monday, Rock U Fest announces four more acts to their bill. Here are the newest one's with their particular track. The first one is Mr. I!
Kharma and Shadow Thieves will both be at the Ten Mile House on Saturday, August 13th. Kharma hasn't performed in a while, so this is big for them, they are working on recording their album right now. The two tracks below are downloadable and are from their demo. HERE is the event page on facebook. Also, below Kharma's two tracks is a live track that Casey from Kharma and also the band Cronus recorded. I have permission to post this from the singer of Shadow Thieves. It is from Casey's show on Rock Town Radio.
*Stay tuned for this week's #Video Of The Week & also the new Rock U Fest 2011 additions that were announced this Monday! Still waiting on a couple of artists tracks.
Next up is The Legendary Clampetts, they are a heavy, Americana-Rock type of band. They are from Springfield, IL. and their next show is on Fri., Aug. 5th at Capitol City Bar & Gill, which is also in their home town. Give their page a "like" HERE & check their exclusive and free download below. For more FREE tracks by the band, visit this link HERE.
More good stuff. Yesterday, KDHX posted another rockin' live set for streaming only on their site. Here is a track that I enjoyed by the group So Many Dynamos. Give them a "like" HERE & stream their new, live track below.
