- Preston Ary Recently Signed To Nashville Weekly Entertainment Records.

- Preston Ary's Biography As Published by Indie Artists Magazine:

At the age of 20 Preston joined a country rock band called southern edge. The band heard him perform a few original songs at an open Mic night in west plains Missouri. Shortly after maybe 5 songs, they asked him if he would be interested in joining the group. It became a great decision, as the band was highly seeked in the area, and they got to open for confederate railroad, and the lacs.

“I began to fall in love with the music scene more and more. As I continued to write and grow as an artist and a performer, I began working on solo projects in friends garages and using all my hard earned money to try to create an album.” says Preston

After 5 years of putting in money to record his songs the best Preston could, he met Cathy Lemmon, who runs an artist development business. Cathy helped him to meet Kent Wells, and a few local writers in Nashville. Preston spent a week writing songs and picking out his favorites to record with Mr wells. He spent the last bit of his hard earned money and hoped that his songs would finally come to life.

“Mr. Wells surpassed my expectations with his production and turned my dreams into reality when I heard the finalized work of the songs that I had written.” says Preston. All of the garage recordings and garage band sessions had no comparison. “I figured i may actually have a chance at this.” says Preston. When he heard the final mix of Hide and Seek in which he co-wrote with Bill Diluigi, he knew it was a potential number 1.

                ** About Julien Baker **

Julien Rose Baker (born September 29, 1995) American singer and guitarist from Memphis, Tennessee, United States. She is a member of the alternative rock band Forrister, formerly known as The Star Killers.[2]She released a studio album, Sprained Ankle, on 6131 Records in 2015, and a second full length release, Turn Out the Lights, on Matador Records in 2017.

StyleEdit

Baker has met critical acclaim for her performance and songwriting, described as emotively cathartic, as well as a fresh take on folk music.[9] Her album Sprained Ankle has been described as featuring pared-back fragile songs, while Turn Out the Lightsfeatures more developed song structures while retaining the raw emotion of its predecessor.[by whom?]

CareerEdit

In 2010, Baker cofounded a band called The Star Killers, which renamed itself Forrister in 2015.[10][11][12] During her freshman year at MTSU, Baker began writing songs on her own, often in the university practice rooms late at night.[13][5] With a friend, Michael Hegner, she recorded an EP at Spacebomb Studios, which she self-released in the winter of 2014 on Bandcamp[14] which became the studio album Sprained Ankle, in October 2015.[12] Sprained Ankle topped many 2015 end-of-the-year lists and its success led to features in The New Yorker and The New York Times.[15][16]

On March 7, 2016 she performed on an NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert.[17] During that set she referenced a new song called Sad Song #11 which was later titled "Funeral Pyre" and released with "Distant Solar Systems" as the b-side.[18] Baker contributed a song titled "Decorated Lawns" to the Punk Talks winter compilation called Jingle Yay which released December 1, 2016.[19]

Baker has opened for bands including Death Cab for CutieConor OberstThe DecemberistsBelle & Sebastian, and Paramore. In 2017 she signed to Matador Records,[20] releasing a 7" of the songs "Funeral Pyre" and "Distant Solar Systems". An LP, Turn Out the Lights, recorded at Tennessee's Ardent Studios with help from Sorority Noise's Cameron Boucher, was released on October 27, 2017.

On October 28, 2017, Baker made her national television debut on CBS This Morning and on January 3, 2018, she made her late night debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

TANCRED ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM NIGHTSTAND

OUT JUNE 1ST ON POLYVINYL RECORD CO.

ON TOUR WITH JULIEN BAKER - DATES START NEXT WEEK

Tancred is proud to announce the forthcoming release of the new album Nightstand, out June 1st on Polyvinyl Record Co. Produced by Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast, Generationals), Nightstand is the follow up to Tancred’s (aka Maine based musician Jess Abbott) well received 2016 release Out of The Garden, which won praise from Stereogum, The FADER, Rookie, and many others while leading to tours with the likes of Speedy Ortiz and Weaves. NPR Music shared the first single “Reviews,” praising Abbott for her ability to “write a booming melody that cuts through a wash of guitars, screaming her insecurities to the beat of a chugging drum kit,” going on to applaud how she “has polished her songwriting into a resplendent pop shine.” This April Tancred will hit the road with Julien Baker for dates across the Midwest and East Coast.

* Stream “Reviews” via NPR Music and YouTube

* (Pre Order Nightstand http://plyvnyl.co/nightstand)

“This new album takes a step back from the energy of my last album to bring in a little more vulnerability,” Abbott tells NPR Music. “‘Reviews’ felt like the right first single because it holds some of that same propulsion the last album had, but also opens a secret door into a more introspective vibe present throughout Nightstand.”

Nightstand is an album born out of an unexpected revelation Abbott experienced following her transformation into a more confident person, one full-throatedly declared on 2016’s plucky Out of the Garden. “After I became comfortable in this new skin, in truly being myself, I was immediately hit with loneliness,” she reveals. “I realized that human connection is really important to me.” And so Abbott began a new journey of personal exploration, one that involved connecting with other people just as much as connecting with herself. “I was reading a lot of books, learning a lot of new hobbies, meeting so many new people -- just taking in as much information as possible to try and figure out what it really meant to me to be alive,” she recalls.

As with her previous work, the writing process for what would become Nightstand consisted of Abbott alone in her room with just a guitar, strumming chords and singing words until gradually songs began to coalesce -- though this time around she made it a point to devote three days a week for an entire year to only playing music.

As a result, when the recording process began with Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast, Generationals) at his home studio in LA, the focus was less on finishing songs and more on perfecting them. Working with Pesacov offered new approaches – and gear – previously undiscovered by Abbott, affording her avenues of exploration that dialed in the production and tone on each and every song. “My favorite part of each day was sitting down to decide which guitar we needed to use for the song we were recording,” recalls Abbott. “It sounds so simple and I know most records are made this way, but it was my first time actually being able to do that and I loved it.”

The positive effects of this nourishing environment are evident throughout Nightstand, as on propulsive first single “Reviews,” showcasing Abbott’s strong melodic sensibilities balanced with purposeful, well-placed instrumentation. Or “Queen of New York,” which captures the feelings of fleeting lust set against a metropolitan backdrop, all within an effervescent three-minute bop.

Of course, it wouldn’t truly be a Tancred album if the upbeat melodies didn’t also serve to sugarcoat Abbott’s often somber lyrics about the experience of being a woman and being queer in today’s society. But even she is quick to emphasize that there is still comfort to be found during times of isolation or alienation: “Ultimately, we are all feeling these things together, and that can be enough to feel less alone. There’s a hopefulness in the loneliness.”

** About Westerners and Mess **

Balancing dark, intelligent lyrics with upbeat, catchy instrumentals fit to air on the radio, Westerners create a unique intensity. Recorded and produced by Joel Nanos at Element Recordings (Kansas City), their latest four-song EP release has gained praise in the Midwest, building their fan base and showcasing their folky appeal with words drenched in sadness, while maintaining psych-rock soaring guitar solos that are bound to fill you with
superficial elation. It translates into a fiery performance, one that will likely get
you stomping your feet in approval.

TRYON is a pop duo from Charlotte, North Carolina consisting of brothers Stephen and Justin Kirk.

Growing up in Charlotte, both Stephen and Justin immersed themselves in many musical endeavors. From Gospel choirs and school bands, to backyard parties and music clubs, the Kirks both learned to sing and master multiple instruments. “We’d play and sing for anyone who would listen,” recalls Justin. “To be honest, that’s something we've never grown out of.”

Having opened for national acts (Carrie Underwood, Safety Suit, Flo Rida, Kevin Rudolf, We The Kings and others), and after gaining a strong live and social media following, TRYON believes their time has come. "It's been a ton of work and an incredible journey getting to this point – but we’re excited for this next chapter…and we're ready for the world to hear our music!”

TRYON has teamed with Grammy award-winning songwriter Gary Baker.  Baker is responsible for hits from Backstreet Boys and 98Degrees, along with the classics I SWEAR and I'M ALREADY THERE.  The band is currently in the studio with Baker and other calibrators putting the finishing touches on their debut EP, set for release in early 2017.

TRYON’s breakthrough hit “Somebody To Love Me” is approaching one million streams and is currently being played in major retails stores across the country including Apple, Best Buy, Staples, McDonalds, Verizon, and many others.  The band was a Top 25 finalist in the 2016 Macy’s iheart Radio Rising Star Challenge, will be performing at Charlotte’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year, and is preparing to set out on a National Tour this fall.

Founding member, lead singer, and bass player of Kansas City blues-rock band Trampled Under Foot, Danielle Nicole stepped out on her own in 2015 with her debut album “Wolf Den.” In 2018, Nicole returns with a follow-up release via Concord Records.

"I grew up playing the blues, and the blues is still a big part of what I do.  But now I'm reaching out more and trying different things.  It still sounds like me, but I'm stretching out a lot more than I have previously."

Nicole's distinctive, inventive bass work—which resulted in her becoming the first woman to win the Blues Foundation's 2014 Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist, Bass—is the product of years of intensive roadwork.  Although she had no experience with the instrument when she became Trampled Under Foot's bassist, now she can't imagine life without it.

"When I started doing my solo thing," she continues, "someone asked me if I was gonna hire a bass player.  No, of course not!  I originally picked up the bass to keep Trampled Under Foot a family band, but I really fell in love with it.  It was a huge challenge, and it still is.  But I really love being part of the groove and getting to sing on top of that.  I had learned some stuff on acoustic guitar before I started playing bass, but I never really felt connected to it the way I do with the bass.  It's empowering, walking onto a stage full of grown men who can play their asses off, and it's 'OK, I'm gonna play this bass, we're gonna do this, and it's gonna rock.'"

Rounding out her band are longtime Danielle Nicole Band guitarist  and multi-instrumentalist Brandon Miller, and drummer Rodd Bland, son of blues legend Bobby “Blue” Bland, who earned his chops playing in his dad’s band and later with BB King.

"I think that it's a good time for the kind of thing I'm doing," she states. "From my years of playing blues festivals, I've seen that younger and younger audiences are getting into the blues.  I think that people want to hear authentic music again."

About "The Netherlands" Album:

"These are more songs from another time and place. This time around, a story album. Not mine, but that of spirits both close and far. Help from Durrell and Hemingway. The stories fleshed out by some of KC’s jazz cats, not to mention the usual suspects. I keep my eyes open and my mouth shut (heh heh). Imagining I am seeing the arc of love and the arc of life more clearly with the years. Waiting for a train." - Howard Iceburg
