PVRIS

Artist's Bio

“Get acquainted with the mysteriously awesome PVRIS before they become the biggest thing in rock. For fans of The Neighbourhood, CHVRCHES, and Paramore, PVRIS are the best thing since sliced bread.” That’s what MTV said about the Boston-based trio of vocalist Lynn Gunn, guitarist Alex Babinski and bassist Brian MacDonald and the band is certainly living up to the hype: over the past few months, they performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” were spotlighted on “Last Call with Carson Daly,” hit the road with Fall Out Boy and Awolnation for a North American arena tour and were featured on the cover of Alternative Press. That followed a year in which they hit No. 1 on Billboard’s “Emerging Artists” and “Trending 140” charts, played to packed-house crowds around the world and racked up over 12 million total YouTube views and 15 million total streams in the US alone (the latest being more than 14.7 million Spotify streams and 3.4 million views for their “You And I” video). The band is led by 21-year-old vocalist Lynn Gunn, who the Huffington Post described as “a force that cannot be denied.” They’re currently putting the touches on a much-anticipated new album, due out later this year.

“MONSTER” VIDEO PREMIERED VIA BILLBOARD HERE + VEVO HERE

“One of the talks of SXSW, Flint Eastwood sounded absolutely incredible.” Huw Stephens, BBC Radio1

“Musically grandiose and empowering” Billboard

“Lolla, this is your wake-up call, thanks to Flint Eastwood, aka Detroit singer Jax Anderson. "Wake up, Lazarus!" she demands. A pig-tailed dynamo in black, Anderson veers between gothic-tinged mood pieces such as "Find What You're Looking For" and uptempo electro-rock celebration "Small Victories." - Chicago Tribune

About:

Detroit’s Flint Eastwood (Jax Anderson) revealed the video “Monster” HERE and premiered it via an emotionally charged feature on Billboard HERE. The Jax Anderson-directed and edited video comes just ahead of the start of her first headline tour and followed by a return to touring America with Pvris mid February. “Monster” is taken from her critically acclaimed debut EP Broke Royalty via Neon Gold Records (Christine And The Queens, Charli XCX, Tove Lo).

Last year, Jax played 4 successful Lollapalooza shows (incl supports for Phantogram and Sylvan Esso), had a huge set at Bonnaroo and was the youngest artist invited to join the “Superjam” to perform “Get Up Offa That Thing” by James Brown with Preservation Hall and Jon Batiste as her backing band. On top of it all, she sang backing vocals for Chance The Rapper’s version of “Hey Ya”!

Additionally, the EP finds production support from MUTEMATH’s Paul Meany, as well as a track with principal BØRNS collaborator Tommy English. At the start of last year, Flint Eastwood’s empowerment anthem “Queen” was released ahead of the Women’s Marches across the nation. In March, she was hailed as one of the breakout acts of SXSW.  Following the conference, Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1 declared her “absolutely incredible” ahead of his world premiere of “Push” featuring Tunde Olaniran. Listen HERE.

Jax has always been carving out her own path. In 2015, she helped co-found Assemble Sound, a collaboration studio space for Detroit musicians to meet, find resources, and ultimately create good art. They raised funds, purchased a church from the 1870’s, and renovated it as a community. This is the space where Flint Eastwood writes and records her music, the space that sparked the idea for Broke Royalty.

"FOREVER YOUNG" VIDEO PREMIERED  ALTERNATIVE PRESS

 ***

Cherry Pools released a video for their brand new track "Forever Young" via Weekday Records/Sony Music.  Produced by the JUNO and MMVA award-winning Anthony Kalabretta, the energetic and enigmatic track evokes a sense of sonic intoxication, underscored by its cinematic lyrics. "Forever Young" is available for streaming and purchase now, watch the "Forever Young" video HERE.

On the new track, frontman Martin Broda says"'Forever Young' to me is a timeless anthem for the ages. This song & video embodies what it is to live in the moment & be carefree at the same time. Its blend of a retro/modern influence will not only leave you feeling nostalgic, but also like you're discovering your new favorite band," as told to Alternative Press.

Cherry Pools is a burgeoning indie-pop outfit hailing out of Toronto, ON helmed by lead singer Martin Broda. Awash in vintage synths, revved up by 21st century guitars, and swagged out in chic thrifted threads, Cherry Pools harness harmony between distinct eras. Cherry Pools represents the culmination of a lifelong artistic journey for the musicians involved. Most recently, they operated under the moniker of Curses, built an international fan base through rigorous touring, and earned the endorsement of Alternative Press, Exclaim!, and more. In 2017, they underwent a pronounced progression and turned his attention towards fusing the sounds that impacted them the most from their formative years through today. Under the influence of Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Justice, MGMT, Tame Impala, and more, the four-piece arrived at a creative cross-section of inspirations.
