sweet meets sour on Mainland's highly anticipated new EP:

                "Villains"► LISTEN NOW

RIYL The Strokes, Lord Huron, Tokyo Police Club

+ hype from Interview Magazine, NYLON, FADER, Entertainment Weekly, NOISEY & more.

East coast meets West Coast on Mainland's highly anticipated new EP, "Villains," premiering exclusively via Clash Music.

Equally influenced by vinyl collections that range from Springsteen to Cold War Kids and the works of poets such as Lou Reed and William S. Burroughs, Mainland finds elegance in simplicity. Throughout their music, shuddering piano and loose guitar augment bare bones pop hooks. It’s a style that’s been carefully refined to perfection over the years and especially so since the boys traded New York City (the place of their meeting) for California (where all three respectively call home).

In many ways, the Golden State always subconsciously called back to them. Mainland first met in NYC, bonding over their shared roots. After independently releasing their Shiner EP in 2014, they landed a deal with 300 Entertainment as one of the label’s marquee rock acts. Following the release of the Outcast EP in 2015, they hit the road with the likes of Melanie Martinez and Jukebox the Ghost.

Along the way, they released fan favorite singles such as “Beggars”, "Outcast", and “Permission Slip”—which each amass over 1 million Spotify streams each. Between touring, the musicians recorded the songs that would become their 2018 EP, led by the anthemic single, “I Found God.”

“We got some fresh perspective by going back to California,” Topf leaves off. “Being in our new surroundings that were familiar, yet so different really influenced the album. We want to make music that fulfills us on a personal level. These songs are heart-on-your-sleeve. This is the arrival of who we are as a band.”

Now, this scene is about to get a lot brighter. The warmth of Mainland’s new music truly feels like home, as showcased in their new EP, "Villains." Mainland borrow from both coasts, and consequently, phases of their life on the release, wrapping the grit of their songwriting nous in some delightfully cotton-candy melodies.

Written in a time of chaos, the music is a testament to what can happen when you just sit back, and let things play their course. Frontman Jordan Topf explains, "During the process of writing these songs I was going through several degrees of push and pull in my love life. We've all felt like the villain or the bad cop in a relationship. In my case there was pointing of fingers, a rush of emotional peaks and valleys, and feelings of guilt for mistakes made. At the end of the day the meaning of love to me is not a contest or about winning."

"It's about seeing eye to eye and sharing something greater than yourself with someone. That's what I learned about myself in writing these songs. 'Villains' is really about not wanting to be the bad cop in the relationship and showing your lover that you are the truth.".

"Villians" is now available via 300 Entertainment.

BISHOP BRIGGS RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT ALBUM CHURCH OF SCARS

ALBUM FEATURES RIAA GOLD SINGLE “RIVER”, “WILD HORSES”, AND “WHITE FLAG”

LISTEN TO / SHARE “CHURCH OF SCARS” HERE

Island Records artist Bishop Briggs, who has amassed over 400 million global streams and soared to #3 on the Alternative chart with her massive RIAA gold single “River,” releases her highly anticipated debut album “CHURCH OF SCARS” recently.  Following her electrifying performances on American Idol as part of their all-star duets round (watch those performances HERE and HERE), Bishop also performed her defiant new single “White Flag” on The Late Late Show with James Corden.  Watch that performance HERE.

"I am so proud to be sharing my first ever album, “Church of Scars”, with all of you. The title came from the track “Hallowed Ground” and it was a lyric that said, “my heart is a church of scars”. It had to be the album title because it’s how I felt while creating what you are about to hear. It was about being unafraid of those wounds. So, with that being said, I hope you feel less alone by hearing this album." – Bishop Briggs

CHURCH OF SCARS, the highly anticipated debut album from Bishop Briggs out now, features career catapulting singles “River” and “Wild Horses” as well as “White Flag” and “Lyin’” featuring Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons.  The final tracklist is as follows:

1. Tempt My Trouble
2. River
3. Lyin’
4. White Flag
5. Dream
6. Wild Horses
7. Hallowed Ground
8. Water
9. The Fire
10. Hi-Lo (Hollow).

Bishop Briggs’ single “White Flag” is approaching top 25 at Alternative radio with support from Sirius XM Alt Nation, KROQ and Alt 98.7 in LA, Alt 92.3 in NYC and many others.

Affirming her exploding fan base, Bishop Briggs has added additional summer dates to her nearly sold out headlining North American tour, which kicked off  Friday, April 27th, at Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, one week after the release of CHURCH OF SCARS.  The tour of the U.S. and Canada will make stops at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on May 4th and Brooklyn Steel in New York on May 22nd.  Go to http://bishopbriggs.com/tour for info on tickets and unique, limited VIP Tour Experiences.

About Bishop Briggs:

Born in London to Scottish parents, Bishop Briggs grew up in Japan and Hong Kong. Days after graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles where, after years of performing at any venue that would have her, she was discovered in a small hole-in-the-wall by a former-A&R rep and the rest was history.  The music of Bishop Briggs transcends the limitations of singular genres, blending folk, pop and electronic music into a wholly unique sound.

Her debut track “Wild Horses” reached #1 on Spotify's US Viral Chart and #2 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 charts, with airplay on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation, Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Show and a prized spot in Acura’s 2016 TLX and ESPN’s NFL Playoffs ads. She followed up with the RIAA-certified gold single, “River,” a searing and cathartic track that captured the attention of tastemakers and gatekeepers and rose to #3 on the Alternative chart with nearly 175 million global streams; and “Dream” (watch the video HERE).

Bishop has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (watch that performance HERE), Late Night With Seth Meyers (watch that performance HERE), Conan, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! (watch that performance HERE),The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (watch that performance HERE), American Idol (watch those performances HERE & HERE), and The Late Late Show with James Corden (watch that performance HERE).

The emergence of Bishop Briggs in 2017, was triggered by her critically acclaimed self-titled Bishop Briggs EP, her sold out debut headlining tour, and live performance slots opening for Coldplay, Kaleo, alt-J, and Bleachers.  The release of “White Flag” and her debut album CHURCH OF SCARS which came out April 20th, underscored by her headlining North American tour in the spring, proclaim the arrival of Bishop Briggs as one of 2018’s most important breakout artists.

Tyler Keast is back at it again with his first official release of the year. Big boomin' 808’s and smooth synths makes Narcos a true, trunk rattling, head bobbing thumper that is sure to reel folks right in. Keast has added two Kansas City natives to compliment his hype flow. Wave Link and Nicky Halt are two flame throwers that add real depth to this outstanding record. There's definitely more to come in 18 from Keast.
