BRIAN FALLON RELEASES "FORGET ME NOT" VIDEO

FIRST VIDEO FROM NEW ALBUM, SLEEPWALKERS, OUT NOW

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR NOW IN PROGRESS

Brian Fallon has released the video for the first single, "Forget Me Not," from his forthcoming new album, SLEEPWALKERS, out February 9 on Island Records. The video is a performance clip shot in a small club setting showing the power and intimacy of Fallon's relationship with his fans.

"Forget Me Not" is available now on all DSPs and fans can pre-order a physical copy of SLEEPWALKERS only at the Official Brian Fallon Store, with all fan pre-orders receiving exclusive pre-sale access to Fallon's upcoming 2018 North American tour.

Fallon - accompanied by his high-energy backing band, The Howling Weather - will celebrate the release of SLEEPWALKERS with the tour, set to get underway March 27th at Terminal West in Atlanta and then continue through late May.  Fallon and The Howling Weather also recently unveiled their 2018 European headline tour, supported by special guest Dave Hause and scheduled for stops in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Ireland through February and March. The full itinerary is below. For complete details and ticket information, please visit: thebrianfallon.tumblr.com/live.

SLEEPWALKERS sees Brian Fallon once again pushing timeless rock 'n' roll into the modern era, recasting British Invasion rock, first generation UK punk, and American pop and soul into a near irresistible sound he's dubbed - with a nod and a wink towards The Who - as "Heavy R&B." Recorded earlier this year at New Orleans' Parlor Recording Studio with producer Ted Hutt - the man behind the board for The Gaslight Anthem's breakthrough, THE '59 SOUND - the album is yet another sterling example of Fallon's always adventurous artistry, this time fueled by the New Jersey-based tunesmith's interest in the Vox Continental, the distinctive organ used by favorite artists spanning The Animals and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to The Specials and Elvis Costello and the Attractions. As emotionally powerful as it is musically exultant,

SLEEPWALKERS is Brian Fallon at the very top of his game, now as ever pushing and kicking the rock 'n' soul sounds he grew up on into the future.

Known far and wide as singer/guitarist of The Gaslight Anthem, as well as such outfits as The Horrible Crowes and Molly & The Zombies, Fallon made his solo debut with 2015's masterful PAINKILLERS.  The album - which includes the hit singles, "A Wonderful Life" and "Painkillers" - drew widespread critical applause upon its release, with Entertainment Weekly acclaiming Fallon as "a first-rate songwriter with a dozen tunes that wax philosophical about love and the human condition - the dude's like a modern day Nietzsche with a sleeve tattoo."

About Dead Horses:

At fifteen, Dead Horses frontwoman Sarah Vos' world turned upside down. Raised in a strict, fundamentalist home Vos lost everything when she and her family were expelled from the rural Wisconsin church where her father had served as a longtime pastor. What happened next is the story of Dead Horses' stunning new album, "My Mother Moon", a record full of trauma and triumph, despair and hope, pain and resilience. Blending elements of traditional roots with contemporary indie folk, the album is both familiar and unexpected, unflinchingly honest in it's portrayal of modern American life, yet optimistic in it's unshakable faith in brighter days to come. Earthy and organic, Vos' songs also reveal themselves to be excercises in empathy and outreach; she writes to find not only the meaning in the struggles she's endured, but also to embrace kindred souls on their own personal journeys of self-discovery. As much as the album is a reckoning with the past and everything she witnessed growing up (mental illness, poverty, addiction, and violence), it's also an effort to shape the future, to build a community based around art and love and beauty and acceptance, a community to replace the one she was so brusquely robbed of as a child. "My Mother Moon" is Dead Horses' third album, and it follows hot on the heels of their acclaimed 2016 release, "Cartoon Moon", which Public Wisconsin Radio called "equally beautiful and effortless". That record prompted the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to declare Dead Horses A Band To Watch and earned thwm honors as "Best Album", "Best Americana/Bluegrass Artist", and " Best Female Vocalist" at the 2017 WAMI Awards. American Songwriter called Vos "a compelling vocalist... who carries every tune with her husky, deeply emotional tone that feels lived in and real," while No Depression hailed her songwriting as "beautiful and fresh". With a fleshed out touring lineup, the group logged countless miles, sharing bills along the way with Trampled By Turtles, Mandolin Orange and Elephant Revival in addition to making festival appearances from Bristol Rhythm and Roots to WinterWonderGrass.

About Benjamin Jaffe:

Benjamin Jaffe (of HONEYHONEY) Releases Soulful New Single "Everlasting Peace"

Solo Debut Album Oh, Wild Ocean Of Love

Out On May 11th via Diamond Family Records

On Tour Now With Dead Horses

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Benjamin Jaffe will release his solo debut album Oh, Wild Ocean Of Love on May 11th via Diamond Family Records. Best known as one-half of the acclaimed Americana duo HONEYHONEY, Jaffe steps center stage and reveals his ingenuity as a guitar virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, writer, composer, and arranger. Today, Jaffe released his new single "Everlasting Peace," debuted this morning by Consequence of Sound who called it "an emotive R&B ballad featuring layered, delicate vocals."

* Stream "Everlasting Peace" HERE.

Trading the rootsy stomp of HONEYHONEY's three albums for an indie-alternative sound, Jaffe widens his approach with Oh, Wild Ocean of Love. These songs make room for a broad range of influences, from the polyphonic rhythms and improvisational freedom of jazz music to the soul and swagger of Motown. There are sweeping indie-folk tunes like "Susan the Cat," R&B ballads like "Everlasting Peace" where Jaffe layers his voice into gorgeous stacks of multi-part harmony, and dissonant rockers like "Blooming" where he shines a light on his skills as an inventive electric guitarist. Throughout the tracklist, Jaffe plays nearly every instrument himself, bouncing between drums, keyboard, bass, and guitar.

Inspired by a wide range of sounds and texts - including Paul Simon, Beck, Randy Newman, and The Essential Chuang Tzu - Oh, Wild Ocean of Love explores the wreckage left by a relationship that's poorly-defined and headed south. It's an album about the full spectrum of love: love for yourself, for others, and even your maker. An album about lessons learned. An album about the realization that even in these chaotic times, it's okay to relax.

Earlier this month, Jaffe released "Susan the Cat" which Billboard described as "Far afield from HoneyHoney's brand of Americana - textural and moody, with fuller (but not overwhelming) instrumentation and lusher aural brushstrokes." At the beginning of the year, Jaffe released the official video for the lead single "Dominator," debuted by Baeble who called it "Smooth as butter." The song was first released late last year followed shortly after by "Blooming." Each song released will be accompanied by a new episode of "The Rearranger Series" in which Jaffe films/records the song in a completely different way than the album version. Follow the series by subscribing to his YouTube page HERE.

In addition to his solo debut, Jaffe continues to broaden his career beyond the confines of the recording studio and the stage. He composed, recorded, and produced the film score for Joy Joy Nails, a short film that screened at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, building on a resume in TV and film that includes work on the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants and various other shows and films. He also appears in the new TBS series The Guest Book, alongside HONEYHONEY bandmate Suzanne Santo, in which the two play recurring characters in each episode. They also wrote the series' theme song and several other songs for the soundcheck.

The @QuinnXCII Debut Album Is Now Available. Catch Them & @shalloumusic 9/28 @oldrockhousestl

Thursday, September 28th Quin XCII come to the Old Rock House with Shallou. The tour has been selling out shows consistently. Visit HERE for the event details.

The Story Of Us, the debut album from Detroit-bred vocalist/songwriter Quinn XCII, is now available everywhere:
http://smarturl.it/tsou.

"Quinn is perfectly cool with his devil-may-care falsetto.” – Billboard

“Quinn XCII knows how to make a quality pop record with honesty.” – Complex

Filled with authenticity and grassroots appeal, the album is highlighted by standout single “Straightjacket,” a track that combines stylish retro-electronic chops with a sultry reggae snap into its own pop sound about a “psycho from a Midwest suburb,” as Quinn explains. Listen to previously released album tracks including “Always Been You,” “Worst,” and “Fake Denim.”

Quinn XCII explains: “I wanted the album title ‘The Story Of Us’ to really represent that I’m just like everyone else and go through similar experiences. The songs are relatable and touch on all different topics and emotions—new, old, good and bad relationships, growth, memories, temptation, and challenges. I’m just a kid from the Midwest. My life isn’t this unattainable fantasy, I didn’t have an angle or connections to the music industry. I just worked hard to turn my passion into a career, anyone can do the same in whatever they’re pursuing.”

To celebrate the release of The Story Of Us, Quinn XCII has embarked on his first national headlining tour this fall, with more than half of the dates selling out weeks in advance! The 30-date tour kicked off September 24 in Salt Lake City, UT and wraps on November 7 in Portland, OR.

About Quinn XCII:

With his ability to seamlessly blur the lines between pop, hip-hop, electronic and soul, Quinn XCII has quickly paved his own lane with his unique sound. An early mixtape release turned heads, but it was his debut EP Change of Scenery, released in 2015, that put Quinn XCII on the map, connecting with the blogosphere and snaring millions of online streams. His track “Stung” hit #1 on Hype Machine, and a follow-up EP, 2016’s Bloom, cemented his ability to meld styles and write about more varied subject matter. Quinn XCII’s featured vocals on “Kings of Summer,” a collaboration with childhood friend and frequent collaborator, producer ayokay, reached #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral chart and #1 on Hype Machine, accumulating 65 million plays on Spotify. All signs point to yet another hit with “Straightjacket,” which was named SoundCloud’s “Song of the Month” this past January and reached #3 on SoundCloud’s Pop chart; at Spotify, “Straightjacket” has been streamed nearly 20 million times around the globe, with three million monthly listeners.

2nd Anniv. of the @STLMU Blog feat. The Falling Martins & Alex Rosales! #STL #MUSIC

Bassist Rich Wooten of The Falling Martins was kind enough to introduce me to his group's music. He showed me their double-disk that was recorded live at The Old Rock House, which is an impressive package, by the way. This conversation ironically took place at The Old Rock House this past April 17th after the first STLMU meeting in three years. It was two years ago, in May, that I began applying myself to this blog. Over the course of which, I have seen a unbelievable interest in our music scene in St. Louis. The meeting went pretty well and it was on a Tuesday night, same night at the Cardinals were in a post-season game downtown. All that I had to go by in my mind was the first meeting that I attended years ago, when I was introduced to this group. There were two tables connected at the "late" Cruisin' Rt. 66 located on Watson Rd. It was interesting to me because there were musicians of all ages from all types of genres, including people that work at venues, promote, etc. I did a lot of listening. There were around 20-25 people at that first meeting then, so I think that the 30 or so that attended the meeting I mentioned from this past April is a good sign. I think that because it was after only three meetings that it caused a domino effect and there were around 250 people in Cruisin' Rt. 66 on a Monday night years ago. I just wanted to get the ball rolling, so to speak. A big thanks to those that attended from acts like The Falling Martins, Revence, Midwest Avengers, Shotgun Abby, Sinfinis, The Psychedelic Psychonauts, It!, Kyle Walz, Alex Rosales, Angerchild, Ockum's Razor, The Washco Lowlifes, Castlewood, J. Boozer & also The Ragged Blade Band. They came from areas reaching from as far as Nashville, IL to O'Fallon, MO. In addition, I would like to thank Tara Pham of Eleven Magazine, Royal Management, Sara from the Alton Main Street in Illinois & also to The Grove STL for their presence there. The theme was about events and festivals, seeing that this is when that season is in full-swing. The next one will take place toward the end of summer, probably in August. The theme will be the same for the next meeting also.

*Click HERE if you are seeing this in Google Reader, etc.

New Illphonics, Cronus, The Stone Sugar Shakedown, The Scandaleros & The Eclectic Contact Run #STL #MUSIC

The Eclectic Contact Run is three men that have been working on their collaboration since the end of 2010 in their basement in Dogtown. They are a Rock, Blues, Alternative style of group which recently changed their name from "Ponder Point". They initially shared this track on the fan page on Facebook and I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw that it was a practice recording done in a basement, it is just that you never know what you are going to get. I was pleasantly surprised and this track has some good songwriting and I especially enjoyed the melody and vocals. Watch for these guys in the near future at a venue near you. May I introduce you to their song, "Money & Women"? Note: Their dog is jokingly referred to as their manager, tech, hype-girl on facebook.

The Illphonics have a new EP coming out in February on the 21st. Watch the website for details. Their next show in St. Louis is this Friday at the Old Rock House for a battle to win a spot on WAKARUSA 2012. View the event HERE. Also performing is The Elemental Shakedown, The Scandaleros, Cronus & also The Stone Sugar Shakedown. Below this song are three live tracks from artists on this bill, two of which you can download, except the last one.

(Click Sound Cloud logo to go download.)

Also, Isaac Cherry, the drummer for The Ragged Blade Band has been recording some different type of music on his personal Sound Cloud account. One example is that he is doing some "Blues" drum tracks by themselves and offering them to others to cut and splice for their own beats. His group does turn-of-the-century style of music with all sorts of influences in there.
