#AmenLucyAmen CD Release @TheGramophone on 1/17.

A few years ago we were introduced to Zachary Schwartz here on this blog. Then he was promoting his folk rock album "Fibs and Philosophies." Now he's in the folk band Amen Lucy, Amen, and is excited to be releasing their album "Ashore for the End" January 17 on Brave New Records.net. They have a punk inspired folk rock sound and are a five piece. See HERE for a full bio on the group.

The physical release also happens January 17, and they're having a CD release party at The Gramophone. HERE is the event page on Facebook. Also, this Friday 1/10 they are going to let people stream the whole record for a day to preview it. So, stay tuned to their Facebook page for that.

Sister trio @dubbnubb to perform at @FoamSTL tomorrow 1/9.

The sisters in Dubb Nubb are back with a new album 'Wild Dreamin'' that was released November 19th. The album includes 14 songs written in the past two years since Delia and Hannah moved to Columbia, MO (they are STL natives!) They moved away for college and recently welcomed a new addition to their group by welcoming Amanda on drums. The album was self-released on their own label Special Passenger Records and was recorded by Wil Reeves at Centro Cellar Studios in Columbia. They last came to town in November & they have another show this Thursday, January 9th at Foam that starts at 9pm.

The trio features twin harmonies, classical inspired guitar and sparse percussion. This is their 4th release since 2008, and over the years they have shared the stage with The Staves, Oberhofer, Kimya Dawson, and Pearl and the Beard, and released 2 Daytrotter sessions. Below is a free track and is the title song of the newest effort followed by the complete album for streaming & for purchase. If you plan to see the show you can also pick up a physical copy at the show.

@theblackangels & @rokyericksonTM storm @firebirdstl on 2/1.

The Black Angels of Austin, TX. storm The Firebird along with Roky Erickson on Saturday, February 1st. In a celebratory fashion they are offering listeners a free download of their EP entitled, 'Live In San Francisco' on their Facebook page. It features live renditions of 'Evil Things', 'Broken Soldier' & 'Indigo Meadow'. The latter of which is the reason for the winter tour. It is also the name of their new release that supports the mission & is available now on ITUNES. This is their fourth now & is a follow up to 2010's debut of 'Phosphene Dream' along with quite the acclaim. They can be considered the face of what is contemporary psychedelic rock. Witness the kaleidoscope thrust forward into the future with a legend and a revelry that only Christian Bland, Alex Maas, Stephanie Bailey, Kyle Hunt & Jake Garcia of The Black Angels can bring. Behold.

@RockUFest tunes & highlights from the 3rd annual event. #STL #MUSIC

The third annual Rock U Festival went off without a hitch and everyone seemed to have a good experience again this year. Seven Eighteen, Daniel Dwyer & IQ, Out Of Sequence had battled it out earlier this year for optimal slots on the event. This year also brought acts like Jay Brooke Lipe & The Terrible Two's from the Riverbend area & he along with the festival's organizers made the Alton Telegraph. Juggernauts of rock like Divine Sorrow amazed the crowd outdoors on the new stage outside Atomic Cowboy. Final Veil dazzled & was unique. I could go on and on. The night was rounded outdoors with a fantastic set by The Pat Sajak Assasins & inside the Demo also brought the event to a climactic crescendo with Unifyah. Here is some of the artist's from this past year's event that took place on Saturday, Sept. 28th of 2013. We hope to see you for the fourth annual event in 2014.
