"Ferocious"

- David Peisner, New York Times

Poster Children returned earlier this year with the politically charged track "Grand Bargain!", announcing a new album to come in spring. The album, of the same name, will be available on May 18 via Lotuspool Records. Today they share the new music video for the "Grand Bargain!" and announce upcoming summer tour dates to follow the album release. In the video, a child posing as Donald Trump plays out many of the President's heavily publicized moments, which include lots of tweeting, eating fast food, and the infamous "Trump Drinks Water" moment during a speech on national security.

Poster Children originally formed in Champaign, Illinois in 1987 by Rick Valentin (guitar, vocals) and Rose Marshack (bass, vocals). Jim Valentin joined on guitar in 1991 and Matt Friscia (drummer #7) joined in 2001. They have released eleven studio albums, on various independent and major labels, and one feature-length film, "Zero Stars". Known for their strong DIY ethic, the band members toured incessantly in the 1990s, driving their own van around the US and Europe, creating their own artwork and T-shirt designs, and operating their own record label. Poster Children were also pioneers in several forms of electronic technology relating to performance art, including enhanced CDs, webcasts, and blogs.

America held hostage day one

A lot of folks woke up without power this morning

It's every man for himself

And every woman at 70% of the going rate

Vision, creativity, and destiny materialize as an unlikely collaboration between emerging acts from across the Atlantic

Innocence RMX marks an international voyage from the Mid-West to the Mid-Atlantic; crossing borders and musical genres and uniting local top musical talents in an uplifting collaboration remix.

Innocence, the soulful and most popular track from Kiriyama’s latest album was remixed into a spirited EDM beat by Charley Cooks (Milwaukee’s premier producer). With inspiring and unrelenting lyrics from Dana and Vince, the track is three minutes of power.
This collaboration reveals many natural synergies between the two localities aside from ice and snow. When you think of Milwaukee; perhaps you’ll think of beer, cheese, and motorcycles. When you think of Iceland; it’s likely you’ll think vikings, volcanoes, tourism… and of course Bjork. But mention that either of these places are hotbeds of killer indie music or hip hop and you’re likely to get raised eyebrows.  Despite this lack of recognition, both Reykjavik and Milwaukee have established and unique music scenes and should surely be on the radar for any music fan who thrives on emerging music discovery.
Further, the artists that make up this collaboration are locally recognized as the best in their respective genres:

Kiriyama Family’s latest album “Waiting For…” was nominated for top pop album in Iceland and the band has had five songs hold at #1 on Icelandic music charts and have been featured in many European publications

Dana has been featured on well known publications like The Source, Rolling Stone and Huffington Post and has collaborated or performed with notables such as Wu Tang, Riff Raff, and Action Bronson.

Vince has won multiple emerging artist awards, been featured on The Source, the Eric Andre Comedy Tour, and has performed with Ludacris, Lupe Fiasco, and Public Enemy.

All three are releasing new albums in 2018.  Let Innocence RMX be your entrée to what the best artists from these two unknown music hotbeds have to offer and be part of the momentum.
