Chaos Chaos is making a couple of stops to the area. The first is on Wednesday, May 23rd at The Record Bar in Kansas City, Missouri. Small Talks will be there with support by Various Blonde. Then on Thursday, May 24th at Fubar Concert Venue is Chaos Chaos and Small Talks as they will be in St. Louis, Missouri with support by The Free Years. This concert is presented by Queen City Productions and Backstage Productions. The doors open at 7:00 pm and tickets are $12.00 in advance. It is an all-ages show and minors incur a $3.00 surcharge. LA-based sister duo Chaos Chaos, whose single“Terryfold” with Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland soared to #33 on the Billboard Hot Rock Song chart, release their highly anticipated self-titled debut album today. The album premiered on L’Officiel USA who raved that Chaos Chaos“rings with reverberations of musicians like Lorde, tapping into this generation’s appetite for spirited synthpop, vibrant beats, and pensive lyrics”. Born in Seattle at the height of the grunge era, LA-based duo Chaos Chaos is made up of sisters Asy and Chloe Saavedra. Growing up, Asy and Chloe picked up instruments and songwriting at ages 8 and 10, formed the band Smoosh and by age 15, released three critically acclaimed albums, toured and performed with the likes of Sleater-Kinney and Death Cab for Cutie, and performed at Lollapalooza and on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! In 2012, Asy and Chloe formed Chaos Chaos. The sisters went on to compose music for Rick and Morty and released their first single “Dripping with Fire”, which Noisey called “a surreal dive into themes like sisterhood, estrangement and growing older”. Both “Dripping with Fire” and new single “Pink Politics”, which Billboard called “a defiant dance jam, whipped together during a polarizing time in history” are off the band’s self-titled debut LP out today.
Chloe has been featured in Modern Drummer, is endorsed by Paiste, and has guest drummed on Late Night With Seth Meyers while Asya was a featured vocalist in Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian’s God Help the Girl album and has done analog synth-based scoring for video games and TV shows TBA soon. The two are proactive with their music and have recently teamed up with a Brooklyn prison to bring their live show to inmates. “As a female musician and someone who cares deeply about equality, I feel it’s my responsibility to consider whatever voice I have. I’m not afraid to destruct walls I believe to be unjust. I love music because it provides a platform for this but also because it makes us aware of both something temporary and something eternal in us. Songs provide a meeting point of these two things in a way I’ve been in love with for as long as I can remember.” – Asy
