Spotlight: @alicesweetalice Embarks On New Adventure

Alice Sweet Alice releases New Album and embarks on Midwest Tour:

Fuse fearsome dedication with four diversely talented musicians, a mind-boggling work-ethic and a positive mission, and you’re facing an unstoppable force. Welcome to Alice Sweet Alice, a Kansas City alt. rock hybrid, whose tasty tunes, stylistic diversity and passionate live show are paying dividends with a hard-to-ignore street buzz.  A.S.A. is female fronted indie alternative rock with teeth.

Kansas City’s ALICE SWEET ALICE (ASA), understand hard work and obstacles. After ASA’s near dissolution in 2016 due to interpersonal relationships going south, it was decided that it would take more than that to derail 9 years of hard work.

“I decided that I wasn’t ready to stop.” says ASA front man Scott Martinez (bass/vocals), “I have personally poured everything I have into this band and ASA’s music is more than a soundscape for me – it’s like a diary.  Some of the other members agreed with me, and have their own reasoning’s for wanting to forge ahead, but it all comes down to individual passions merging into one shared, powerful purpose.”

Releasing “Viola Organista…and Other Impossible Dreams” in 2016 just preceded the band’s breakup, and so the album never really got off the ground.  In March, a remixed, mastered and composed version of this album, which is entitled “Viola Organista – The Macabre Carnival”, will be released – a stronger, more passionate, and better sounding album than its’ predecessor.  Martinez states, “The earlier album was rushed and there were many things about it that bothered me.  But the main reason for redoing it has been the fact that the songs have evolved and we have new members that have adapted the songs to their own styles, and it just seemed natural to release an album that better reflected our new members and growth.”

Alice Sweet Alice will begin touring the Midwest, and have just completed a handful of local gigs to warm themselves up.  The real kickoff will be when Alice Sweet Alice plays with Icon For Hire on March 6th, and will include a string of shows that are still being assembled, but include the AMB Fest (with the likes of Bobaflex headlining) just outside of Chicago this summer.
