THE WLDLFE SHARE NEW SINGLE
"REAL ONES" PREMIERED VIA MXDWN
NOW ON TOUR / ADDITIONAL DATES ADDED
"["Real Ones"] has powerfully-delivered vocals and a breezy dance beat, creating a modern pop atmosphere with memorable lyrics and contemporary production sensibilities."
- MATT MATASCI, MXDWN
Recently, the Indianapolis based band THE WLDLFE share their single "Real Ones", the second new track from their forthcoming summer release, following "I Don't Mind", which recently debuted on Valentine's Day and has been featured in Spotify's 'New Music Friday' playlist. "Real Ones" premiered yesterday via MXDWN.
The new song starts off the spring season with a "slow-burning" (MXDWN) theme of turning pages, growing up, and finding out who your true friends are - "the real ones." Lead singer Jansen Hogan shares, "the song is about the friends that stick around until the very end. There are a lot friendships that you have when you're younger that ultimately fade out. This is about the friendships that feel the same no matter how old you are."
The track begins with the reminiscent lyrics "we were young, we were stupid but we had fun," then evolves through a string of coming-of-age contemplations before swelling to the resolute "even when we change we still feel the same."
THE WLDLFE, an indie pop band who have been praised with comparisons to the likes of The 1975 and Jon Bellion, is composed of frontman Jansen Hogan, guitarist Jason Boucouras, drummer Geoff Jones, bass player Jack Crane, and multi-instrumentalist Carson Hogan. They produce cinematic pop using maximalistic production and an honest simplicity to their lyrics.
The band is currently on tour and performs tonight in New York City at Rockwood Music Hall.
